Institutionalization of Horizontal Learning Project (HLP) in Bangladesh is an outcome-based ‘Peer Learning’ and Innovative project run by the National Institute of Local Government (NILG) under the Local Government Division with support from Switzerland. The Project Management Unit successfully completed the Consultation Workshop on “Mid Term Review (MTR) Report” at Hotel Lake Castle on 14th November 2021.The inaugural session of the workshop was presided by the Director-General of NILG, Mr. Saleh Ahmed Mujaffor. Ms. Corinne Henchoz Pignani, Deputy Head of Co-operation of the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh was present as a special guest on the occasion. Honorable Member of Parliament and Adviser of Prip Trust Mrs. Aroma Dutta was present as the guest of honor in the workshop. Ms. Manika Mitra, Deputy Project Director of HLP Project briefly introduces the background, methodology, and objectives of the workshop in the inaugural session. Mr. Sohel Ibn Ali, Senior Programme Manager & Ms. Jana Rothlisberger, Junior Program manager, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, Mr. Sawpan Kumer Sarker National Consultant of MTR and retired additional secretary to the Government of Bangladesh were also present.

Mr. Atiqur Rahman, Joint secretary- Railway Ministry, Md. Shafiqul Islam- President of HLP HLP Foundation also participated in the Workshop. A H M Kamruzzaman, Joint Secretary-Planning commission, Md. Amin Sharif -Senior Assistant Secretary- ministry of finance, Ms. Mahabuba Ireen, Deputy Secretary-ERD, Mr. Akira Munakata, Advisor of JICA (connected from Japan), Mr. Hiroki Watanabe, Representative (Governance & Public Administration) joined the workshop virtually. Mr. Kiohey Yamamoto Mamun, Advisor-Local Governance- JICA, Ms. Hasin Jahan, Country Director, WaterAid Bangladesh and focal point of all Supporting Agencies, Director (Training & Consultancy) & Additional Secretary Mr. Abu Bakar Siddique, Director (Administration & Coordination) & Joint Secretary Mr. Moniruzzaman, Joint Director (Research & Planning) and other officials of NILG, MTR Consultant, Assistant Project Director of HLP Mr. Imranur Rahman, Project Manager of HLP, and all HLP PMU Officials participated in the Workshop.
